Great Women INSPIRE learned about Cheli when we received the following note from her sister, Jachlin Williams.

My sister, Cheli Chappell is a great woman I know. Approximately five years ago, she created a non-profit organization, Mothers and Daughters United Inc. In 2007, my niece, Desiree was born, but in the same year, my oldest and only daughter, Janae’ passed away. She was my biggest support in my time of grief. Cheli wanted to spend quality time with my niece, so she invited mothers with daughters for yearly luncheons. Each year, the luncheon grew and was a success. My sister paid out of pocket for these luncheons. The luncheons were free.We collected funds or donations for our local domestic violence homeless shelters. I’m also a domestic violence survivor, so I was really impressed with her mission. My sister’s organization provides support and different resources for our community. She is going to school full-time, raising a family and sacrificing so much to give to her community. Each year, Mothers and Daughters United Inc has a Women of Honor luncheon for Active-Duty and Veteran women for their commitment and honor to our country. Cheli and I served in the U.S. Air Force. I love, respect and admire her. I want her to know how much she gives from her heart and it’s appreciated. Thank you for the opportunity to share her story.
